Our Mission

The IFC Sexual Health And Relationship Education Committee fights to prevent sexual violence and promote sexual health within the IFC Community by fostering the development of positive cultural norms towards sex and relationships of all kinds through educating IFC members, providing resources, such as on house policies that support survivors and on healthy relationship behaviors, and promoting understanding of sexual violence and sexual health.

Our Vision

The IFC Sexual Health And Relationship Education Committee works towards a community in which:

• IFC Members commit neither assault nor harassment, nor do either occur within IFC Organizations

• IFC Members recognize and combat unhealthy and abusive relationship behaviors

• IFC Members uphold a culture in which guests feel safe and secure within Member Houses

• IFC Members uphold positive, healthy cultural norms in regards to sex and relationships of all kinds

• IFC Member Organizations are safe places to explore and express sexual and gender identities

• IFC Members recognize the role that intersectionality plays in promoting sexual health

• IFC Members recognize the role that structural inequalities play in incidents of sexual violence

• IFC Members hold themselves and others accountable to maintaining positive, healthy cultural norms and promoting sexual health

• IFC Members support each other in their efforts to build and maintain positive cultural norms

• IFC Members are familiar with bystander intervention techniques and effectively recognize and respond to situations that may lead to sexual violence

• IFC Members are prepared to respond to incidents of sexual violence in a way that supports survivors
